A Tribute to Laguna Loire
This seemingly bumbling kinda guy is really quite valiant and intelligent. He's just not good with words. His emotions often overcome his thoughts, and so he finds himself stumbling to describe what seems so clear in his mind. Haven't any of you ever felt that way? While searching for his adopted niece, he gets thrown into an adventure beyond his grasp, a normal guy in way over his head. While verbally he couldn't talk his way out of a paper bag, he has a stunning writer's mind, which enables him to write fabulous articles about his travels around the world. His friends Kiros and Ward, while tolerant of Laguna, are more literal than he, and provide solutions to the problems he encounters when they are right under Laguna's nose. So why do I like Laguna, you ask? He's not farfetchedly beautiful, he seems kinda stupid, like a puzzle piece that doesn't quite fit... isn't he like an odd man out?
Well, that's precisely it. Laguna is an average guy with an artistic, flighty, follow-your-own-dream kinda mind. Like he says in the game, it sounds kinda corny when you write it out like this, but it's true. He's perhaps the most normal, the one with the most problems. His idol marries his commanding officer (he's a retired Army guy), his fiancée dies when he's out looking for his little 'niece' -- I mean, geez! What else could possibly go wrong for him? I suppose Laguna reminds me of myself, in a way. He is a genius when it comes to writing, but yet he has great trouble expressing his feelings to other people. He gets nervous around people he admires, but he also somehow manages to get his point across. He's a great guy. If you have any pictures of him, or fanfics or whatever, I invite you to send them to me. Thanks! This shrine's ramblings, as with all the others, will end when I have enough Laguna stuff to fill the page. ^_^
The stench grows steadily. Your nose is beginning to explode. You can see what appears to be the final shrine, up ahead -- beyond it, the path descends back to the Basement. You wish to continue. It'll be easier than going back through all the other shrines, you think as you walk along.
The Final Encounter
This is growing tiresome. Your feet ache, your head aches, you wish to (the next time you see her) kill Launchpad for all that she has put you through, with this shrine nonsense. However, just ahead, you see what appears to be the end of this confounded nonsense. Your body rejoices! You run ahead to the next shrine, oblivious to whatever danger might be lurking there.
The End Beckons! Hooray!!
